Examining Different Insurance Policies

Various kinds of insurance policies are available. You can often get a package policy geared to your particular kind of business. For a home-based business you may be able to get a home business insurance package that provides coverage for things such as your business property (inventory, samples, supplies, filing cabinets, computers and software, tools, customers’ goods) on and off the premises, loss of cash, business interruption if your home is uninhabitable, and legal liability (for products or services, or business-related accidents on the premises). Alternatively, you may be able to get an extension of your existing home insurance policy to cover your business. You may also be able to find packages for retail businesses, skilled trades, manufacturing, day care, or office-based businesses.
